Destiny Deems is a 15,000-word collection of vignettes, photographs, and images that capture moments from life sharing the “red thread” in my journey. YouTube & Instagram link icons above

Born in a small Texas town a child is awakened to faith, social strata and the materialism oil money provides. As a teen she is abruptly packed off to Kentucky to attend boarding school (and it’s not for the academics). She realizes her childhood wishes have come true.

Next up college—her introduction to NYC is anything but typical. Suitemates are the daughters of corporation presidents and there are royals down the hall. Freshman year is for adventures and awakenings.

Not knowing what to do with her life she takes cues from books and movies. Although these help in her development they don’t stop her from complaining, “I don’t know what to do with my life.” All it takes is a mother’s advice, “ You should move to California there are people out there like you.”

San Francisco, Rome, Jerusalem all make an appearance. Events make her pause, pay attention and reflect: there’s the full moon that rose above Jordan just as the sun set over Israel, the aha moment crossing the threshold of a Waldorf kindergarten, and the sepia toned postcard of the first Goetheanum that changes everything—life really does take you on the journey you are meant to lead.

After self-publishing, I’ve been queried, “How does one manage to bring a memoir to fruition?”

To answer this question, I’ve created the Destiny Timeline Journal. See the ORDER page for details

PRAISE for Destiny Deems:

Others have encouraged my pitching this book, including the writing instructor: “In my 22 years of teaching I’ve never seen this style, unique prose, ability to know how much to give and when to stop,” a classmate: “Deceptively contained,” a coworker: "With Beverly it becomes apparent she isn’t just about food, clothing and shelter,” an editor: ''There are publishers…that would really fall for your style and content,” and an astrosopher: “It’s all here—please share this with the world.”
